Wonderful Western Witch
In literacy, we have continued with our theme of the wonderful Wizard of Oz! As we all know the antagonist in the book is the wicked witch of the west. A very classic witch may I add.
We were tasked to make our own wicked witch. Design it, give it a name, and give it a backstory as to how it became evil. Some people chose to draw the witch on paper, while others chose to do it digitally. I chose to do it digitally.
Here it is
What do you think? What would your witch look like if you made one?
Until next time.

Hey Riley, what a fun task! I love your western witch, she is exactly what I would imagine from the great backstory you wrote. How have you been finding term 2 online so far? Have you set yourself up a timetable that you have been following? Keep up the great work. Caitlin :)
ReplyDeleteKia ora Riley,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great thing to be covering in Literacy. The Wizard of Oz is a great read and a great movie. You are very right, The Wicked Witch of the West is a classic witch. Have you heard of Wicked? It is a musical based on the Wizard of Oz but from a very different perspective. If you ever get to see it live you should.
I really liked your Western Witch. The art work is amazing, what did you use to create it? I like her staff, it looks really scary with the bat on the end.
Your writing is interesting. I like that you made her poor and desire money. Money is a powerful motivator of evil so I can see how this would make her super bad. I wonder a bit about her family life? Did she have anyone in her family that tried to show her that money was something to desire at all costs?
Thanks for sharing your Western Witch,
:) Sharon - Te Ara Tūhura Education Programme Leader
