Cool coding, reading and tessellation!

Hey readers!

The 3rd day of online school! I was planning on doing some outdoor activities, like a walk. But the weather was not on my side today. So outdoor activities can be saved for another day.

Because of the weather, my activities were once again inside. (I should have done them yesterday). I decided to do: More coding, Reading, and some tessellation art.

I started my morning with some coding. I used a website called Code.org. It was very similar to other coding apps in the sense that it used the same commands, issues, etc... But this time it was themed around Minecraft.

I managed to finish all the levels

I apologize for the blurry image but as you can kinda see I finished all the levels!

Next, I did some tessellation. I remember doing some kind of tessellation in year 4 but I really couldn't remember that much. So after watching the video, I decided to give it a go on google drawings as I knew they had some really good shapes I could use. I ended up making three different designs

I think if I were to do it again I would add color, it might make it more interesting

Finally, I decided I would do some reading. I do reading often so I decided it could use it as one of my activities, so I did. I read for about thirty minutes. The book I am reading is called "Once upon a dream." from a series called "twisted tales" which is your classic fairy tales but it's the aftermath of the villain winning.

What have you been doing during lockdown? Is there anything you missing because of lockdown? I missing out on a trip do Bali :{

Until next time.

  1. Hi Riley,
    You have really been busy. Do you think that you could work on a tessellation that also involved colour?
    I am sorry to hear that you have missed out on a trip to Bali, that's a bit rough. Will you get to go at another time? We are missing out on a trip to Hanmer with family from the North Island and a family trip to Tekapo. Never mind, we will do it another time! Mrs O
